Preface
In the following pages I have endeavoured to sketch the life of an English girl who married a native of Burmah, and to show, if only in outline, how vast is the gulf that divides the Eastern from the Western.
Of the moral aspect of the story I will say nothing, holding no brief for either party; I merely record things as they actually occurred.
